The Padmashree Dr D Y Patil University comes under the administrative jurisdiction of the University of Pune. This highly acknowledged university operates under the rules and regulations of the Pune University. Under the chancellorship of Padmashree Dr D Y Patil, the university has been recognized by several statutory councils like the Medical Council of India, the All India Council for Technical Education, the Technical Board and the Education Board.
This university comprises of twelve institutions namely the Dr D Y Patil College of Engineering with 2,342 students, the Padmashree Dr D Y Patil College of Pharmacy with 201 students, the Padmashree Dr D Y Patil Women’s Medical Colleges with 200 students, the Dr D Y Patil Women’s Polytechnic Institute with 100 students, the Y B Patil Polytechnic College with 300 students, the Padmashree Dr D Y Patil Arts, Science and Commerce College with 400 students in the junior wing and 900 students in the senior wing, the Dr D Y PatilInstitute of Management Research with 275 students, the Dr D Y Patil College of Computer Science with 425 students, the Dr D Y Patil Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology with 40 students, the Dr D Y Patil Tulec Center with 60 students and the Dr D Y Patil Public School with 1331 students.
Each semester ends with examinations conducted by the University and after the completion of each course, the candidates who have secured the highest marks, are awarded with degree and diploma by the University of Pune. The Dr D Y Patil University strives to bring about the general development of the students by ensuring their active participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The colleges desire to make a contribution towards the socio-economic and ethical development of the country by providing high quality education through dedicated staff and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
