Previously known as Nagargaon, Tulapur is famous for its Lord Shiva temple. Vadhu and Tulapur are two places next to each other. Temple is also known as Sangameshwar. Rivers Bhima, Indrayani and Bhama flow near Tulapur.
Vadhu and Tulapur are historically very much important as Shambhaji the son of Shivaji was killed here. Sambhaji was arrested by Aurengzeb in Sangameshwar-the temple. Sambhaji was killed in Tulapur and his Samadhi is in Vadhu which is very near from Tulapur. There is also an idol of Sambhaji in Vadhu
One can experience the greatness of this Maratha at this place. The temple is a very beautiful.
